Melissa is patient, encouraging, and loves working with children. She is a professional dancer, teacher, and choreographer with over ten years of experience teaching all ages. She graduated Cum Laude from York University, where she acquired a BFA with Honours in Dance. While at York, her focus was on dance pedagogy and somatic practice, a type of movement study that looks at the internal physical experience of participants. Her education at York has developed her passion for using dance and movement practice principles to promote an equal mind-body relationship.
Melissa has been trained in classical ballet, modern, creative movement, jazz, acro, and contemporary dance. She is excited to offer courses that explore the connections between mind and body. Her personal experiences with yoga and mindfulness inform her therapeutic work.
When Melissa is not dancing, she enjoys baking and reading, and spending time with family and friends.
