This group teaches children mindfulness techniques. Mindfulness can help improve concentration, regulate emotions, and build self-confidence. Mindfulness also provides the opportunity to learn about our physical experiences and enhance the ability to self-soothe and relax. The practice of mindfulness promotes kindness, patience, and gratitude.
For many children with Learning Disabilities and Attention Deficit (Hyperactivity) Disorder, mindfulness training has been shown to improve attention, focus, memory, self-understanding and self-acceptance. In addition, mindfulness helps to alleviate anxiety by focusing on the present rather than worrying about the future.

The group consists of 8 sessions and is limited to 8 participants. Sessions are facilitated by a child and youth counsellor.
