SUSAN ZUIDEMA

BIOGRAPHY

Susan is a compassionate and attentive listener who aims to join you on your journey, creating a space where you can feel safe and heard. With over twenty years of parenting and a decade of teaching in elementary schools, she also has five years of advocacy for youth grappling with addiction, trauma, and mental illness. She is passionate about helping people overcome the barriers keeping them from living life to the full.

Susan has a soft spot for teenagers and welcomes people at any life stage to explore mental health, life transitions and decisions, relationships, grief, or other life struggles. Looking through attachment and systems lenses, she integrates theories and treatment from a variety of individual and family therapeutic orientations based on client needs. Her current preferred models include Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Family Systems Theory, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT).

Susan loves to spend time with her family and in nature, making camping an ideal family vacation! She is an amateur artist, regularly making a mess with watercolour or acrylic paints.
